Moose and Elk

On the way to Rocky Mountain National Park, we stop in Kremmling, where another reservoir is made into a recreational area with a campground. A log house from the ranch that is now under water, was rescued and placed in the campground. The sky is dramatic in the morning, and we enjoy taking photos of the building and the artwork that is also on the campground.

Our next campground is around the corner from Rocky Mountain NP. We see elk a couple times, but get really excited when we finally see moose! The moose are too far away to take photos of, but the next day, there is a moose and her calf on the campground. We decide to stay an extra day to drive to the other side of the park, and hike to the highest point.

The next day, we open the curtains and see a camper parked strangely on the wrong side of the road. When we look a little closer, we see three moose on the other side of the road. That means taking the Canons out before breakfast. The moose are on the driveway of the house opposite the campground. When the lady of the house arrives in her car, the moose decide to leave and cross the road towards the campground. Great photo-op!
